Joint Operations Center Specialist
Location: Colchester, VT

To assist the National Guard with technical, administrative and analytical support services, for mental health emergency response, domestic situational awareness, historical documentation, mission tracking and information communications management. Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience in area of expertise. Must also have demonstrated capability in program management applications. Will be involved with complex programs involving multiple tasks. Must possess demonstrated skills in the MS Office 2000 Suite of applications to include MS Publisher and Access. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, strong observation and analytical skills, functional knowledge of emergency services, strong personal responsibility and be self-motivated. Current training on military family challenges is preferred. Flexibility is mandatory with working schedule as it impacts ability to respond to emergency situations, unit training meetings and training periods. Location of work may vary. Work performance may be needed away from primary work location and in these events the individual may be entitled to mileage, if using POV, IAW JTR Volume II (Mileage to and from regular work location and home is not included). Radio Tech

Openings will be available in the following locations effective July 1, 2008. These positions function for emergency law enforcement dispatch centers. Boston, MA New York, NY Philadelphia, PA Atlanta, GA Battle Creek, MI Chicago, IL Grand Prairie, TX Denver, CO Los Angeles, CA and/or San Francisco, CA Position Requirements: Successful applicants will coordinate, install and support communications equipment for emergency dispatch facilities. Emphasis is on telecommunications and radio systems servicing Motorola Gold Elite Console System, TIMS testing devices, Motorola RF Communication equipment and subscriber units. Knowledge of PBX switches, analog and digital phones, CCTV equipment, intrusion alarms, alarm monitoring and UL central station certification a plus! Applicants must possess a good mix of Telecom and PC knowledge to perform large and complex voice/data telecommunications projects. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating PBX operation through the eventual long-term goal of converting fully to VoIP technology. Applicants must possess professional knowledge of standardized telecommunications equipment, services, and process or established variations used to review existing contractual relationships for equipment and services, network requirements, compatibility with established long distance commercial telephone systems, protocol requirements and on-line security protection.
